SD-WAN Overview
Your network, run by software instead of habit
SD-WAN puts software in charge of decisions your carrier used to make for you. It watches every connection and routes each application over the best available path, packet by packet — voice on the clean circuit, backups on the cheap one, instant failover when anything blinks. The CFO’s video call no longer competes with a file sync.
It exists because two things changed: bandwidth got cheap, and your applications left the data center. Backhauling branch traffic across MPLS to reach apps that live on the internet is paying a premium to take the long way.
What is SD-WAN?

SD-WAN overlays whatever circuits you already have — broadband, DIA, LTE, MPLS — into one secure, fully meshed, centrally managed network. New sites turn up in days instead of carrier quarters; MPLS stays where it earns its cost and goes where it doesn’t.
SASE extends the same idea to security: firewall, web filtering, and zero-trust access delivered from the cloud edge, instead of a stack of appliances aging in every branch office. If your users are everywhere, their security perimeter should be too.
